EU-SADC Economic Partnership agreement

Botswana is part of the EPA negotiations with the EU as SADC EPA Group member. Together with Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Swaziland, it concluded the negotiations on 15 July 2014 and is now on the process of legal verification before signing the Agreement.

The EPA guarantees access to the EU market without any duties or quotas for Botswanan and regional products. The new access includes better trading terms mainly in agriculture and support to regional integration and property rights protection.
